A common practice for some users is to copy hymns or other elements from Lutheran Service Builder and directly paste them into a Word document through the Search in LSB.

Word has made some changes to the default behavior for copying and pasting data from other programs which causes data copied from LSB to loose it's formatting when pasted into a Word Document.

To keep the formatting from LSB when pasting into Word what you will want to do is click on File in the upper left hand corner or Word, select Options down at the bottom of the screen, and then select Advanced from the list of choices under Options.

Once in Advanced you will want to scroll down till you find a section called "Cut, copy, and paste" and look for the option that says "Pasting from other programs:" with a drop down next to it that most likely set to "Merge Formatting (Default)" you will want to click on the dropdown box where that is displayed and select "Keep Source Formatting" then press ok to save your changes. After that has been done then any elements you copy from LSB will keep their formatting when pasting into Word.
