The following questions were asked by attendees at our webinar.
-
Is there a way to remove the verse numbers in readings?
Yes there is. You would need to edit your Bulletin Format, going to the Content tab on the far right, then scrolling to the bottom under all Propers, uncheck Show verse numbers. -
Is there any option for just speaking the Introit by adding P or C ? We do not chant/sing it in our services.
Yes, the user can use the toolbar at the top to include or exclude the Psalm Tone. There are also templates that allow the user to add or exclude the P or C. If these do not fill the request, you can right click and Edit the Introit modifying the element and saving a copy under My Common Elements. -
When indicating who speaks a part of the liturgy, is there a way to make a change so that it shows the Pastor rather than an Assistant is speaking? Can that change be applied to the whole service?
In most cases, you would select a different template for that element. If that does not work, you can always save a copy of the element and modify it under My Common Elements. -
When I changed the number of verses in the Hymn of the day, the title changed. Do I need to type the name of the hymn in by hand again? Or is there a way to keep the caption that was there before editing the verses?
If the caption changes you can right click on the caption and click reset caption, to revert the caption back to its original state. -
Prayer of the Church - is there a way to insert the text?
Yes there is. You may insert an element, make sure to select prayer, then search for Prayer of the Church in the panel on the right hand side.
If you are referring to the "Let Us Pray" series of prayers, you can have the text inserted automatically if you would like, but you will need to activate the free Content Subscription under Account Settings. -
Can you remove portions of the rite of baptism?
You can right click on the portion/element in the Order of Service and select delete from the context menu -
What if someone chooses a hymn in TLH, can you look those up on here also?
The hymns from the TLH are not included in Lutheran Service Builder. -
Can the webview be printed by those viewing the webview at home?
We have disabled the print function for the web view. -
I only ever see the 'melody button'. I have never seen the 'setting' and 'text/setting' buttons. How can I make them available?
The options displayed depend on the element selected. -
In the baptism part, there are italicized items. Can those items be changed within LSB? Like if I enter the person's name, then will it populate in all the name spots?
Modifying the rite of Baptism would need to be done after you export, inside of your word processor. -
By saving an order of service setting for a service that is pre-made with the parts moved to where we use them and such....will it save the included hymns or will those be changed for each service that this template is used for?
The hymns are not saved when saving the order of service. Saving is like making a template. -
If I have a custom hymn can I import that into Lutheran Service Builder for future use?
Yes you can. This can be done by creating a custom element by navigating to Settings > My Worship Resources > My Hymns > click Add in the lower left corner. -
What if I scanned a piece of music? Can I add that into LSB?
Yes. When adding a Hymn. Click the add button at the top to add a "melody with stanzas". There will be a Replace engraving option that appears. This will allow you to import an image, splice the image for each stanza and use that image in your bulletins. -
Is is possible to change the font on a hymn when using it in the melody format?
The melody format is really displaying an image or picture (what we call an engraving), not word processing text, so it cannot be changed -
I write hymns - if I add my own hymns, I'd rather not select public domain - although they are currently unpublished, I am hopeful that they won't always be. What should I select for copyright in that instance?
The copyright would be whoever owns the rights to the work. So if you are the "owner" of the unpublished work, your name can be added as both the author and copyright holder. -
Are changes being made in the bulletin reflected in the Playlist as well? For example when added element or hymn.
Yes they are. -
If we used the "formatting" in LSB for folding, legal size bulletin covers would those formatting options come across when you export to Word?
Yes they do. -
I noticed that my modified DS3 service went to an "uncategorized" section. Is there a way to categorize it so it shows up in the DS area?
The user can create a category for a liturgy/element, then categorize the liturgy/element after it has been created, but both will still appear at the bottom of the searchable list. Call our Support Team for details. -
Rubrics are not showing up in my Presentation. Is that intentional?
This may be due to the Presentation format. There is an option to make Rubrics visible. You can also uncheck so they are not visible. You can review your presentation formats by clicking Settings (gear) and go to Presentation formats. Click on your format, then go to Content and review the All Rubrics setting. -
We use Keynotes on Mac...so I take it out of PowerPoint and then copy and paste into Keynotes...is there any other way to do that?
You should be able to open the PowerPoint file directly with Keynote. Not sure if this would give you a shortcut due to personal preference and the differences in the two programs. If opening is undesirable, the only other option would be to copy and paste. -
If you changed the background and then return to your presentation, will it show as you edit your presentation?
You will need to re-apply the presentation format. To complete this task, you will need to select a different format then reselect your desired format. -
Can you categorize a new custom order of service (liturgy)? If so how?
Here are the steps to Categorize any My Worship Resource content. You will click the Add button in the lower left, then click Add a category. Once the Category is added you can name the category. Once the category is named just click and drag your service under the new Category. -
Is there a repository online to find "Public Domain" hymns and the hymn's stanzas and melodies?
I don't have anything I can officially recommend but after some Googling, it looks like there are various resources for public domain hymns, including https://pdhymns.com/. -
How do I add Preludes? Bells? Postludes? in Concordia Organist
Those features are not part of the integrated Concordia Organist subscription at this time. But they are available for purchase in a CD set here:

We are part of a dual parish. Is there a way for both congregations to share a license?
There is the possibility of dual parishes sharing a subscription. You will need to speak with your software analyst about it.
